What Really Matters When Using AI in SMEs
AI in SMEs does not fail because of the technology, but because of false expectations. Anyone who sees AI as a nice upgrade for existing processes is missing the real leverage. The article by Digital Agentur Berlin clearly shows that successful AI requires strategic clarity, a robust database and processes that not only promise transparency, but deliver it. Medium-sized structures in particular make these basics mandatory, not optional.
At the same time, external pressure is growing: geopolitical risks, dependencies on US providers and a global race for digital sovereignty. Anyone who does not make a conscious decision now is making an involuntary decision and risks losing control of central value creation.
And at the end of the day, there is an uncomfortable truth: AI will only be effective where people understand it, trust it and actively use it. Without consistent change management, leadership with attitude and employees who feel secure instead of losing control, AI will remain a patchwork.
The article clearly shows where the biggest levers lie and which mistakes SMEs simply can no longer afford to make.
