What Does that Mean?
Attractive means appealing. At the level of content, this means: something that is attractive arouses my interest. Content is therefore attractive.
Why Is This Important, and How Can I Benefit from It?
The fact that content has an attractive effect is nothing new. With the success of Google, an entire industry has developed around this topic. Search engine optimization (SEO) deals with the task of how to publish content on the web in such a way that it is found particularly well on Google, i.e. appears as high up as possible in the results for a search query.
But attractiveness is subjective. And that’s a good thing. What one person finds beautiful and interesting may bore another. The attractiveness of content is therefore only really valuable if it appeals to exactly the target groups that I, as the provider of the content, want to reach. So before I use the attractiveness of content for myself, I have to ask myself who my target groups actually are.
How Exactly Can I Use This for Myself, and What Tools Are Available?
The simplest approach to making content (more) attractive is to use so-called keyword tools. There are countless variants of these tools on the Internet. Most of them are based on evaluating the search behavior of users on the Internet.
Search engines such as Google receive billions of search queries every day and therefore know very well what people are looking for, what interests them and what they therefore find attractive at first glance.
We find these statistics of search queries on Google in the form of the suggestion list (Search Suggest) when searching. Tools such as Searchmetrics read out these combinations of keywords. This helps to identify words that I need to include in my content to make it interesting for searchers.
Next Generation of SEO software
The next generation of software goes one step further and uses artificial intelligence and deep learning to evaluate which topics are contained in content in quantities that are unmanageable for humans. This is much more advanced, because topics are independent of the specific form of expression.
In addition, platforms such as CONTEXTCLOUD also decode other topics that are related to searched topics. This is crucial if I want to attract the attention of people who don’t yet know that I am attractive to them. For example, if you sell headache pills, you can take advantage of the fact that you can attract people’s attention when they search for Alcopop.
Content therefore not only has a direct sales-promoting effect, but also helps to introduce new interest groups to my own offers. In the language of digital marketing, this is called the awareness phase of a customer journey.
Awareness means attention – and would be another suitable letter for the A in the content ABC.
