AI for 25 years: moresophy shows what characterizes responsible AI
Munich, April 20, 2026 – While the world has been discussing artificial intelligence since 2022, moresophy has been developing and operating AI solutions for companies for a quarter of a century. In these 25 years, the Munich-based company has learned one thing: reliability, transparency and responsibility are not optional features – they are the core of any AI that is to be used productively. With 30% average revenue growth over the last five years and long-term partnerships with customers such as Helvetia, Deutsche Telekom, Haufe and GVL as well as partners such as PwC and Accenture, moresophy is now one of the most experienced and independent AI providers in the German-speaking world.
Evidence before plausibility
moresophy’s approach has always been different from that of the major platform providers. With DAPHY ®, moresophy has set a milestone: The patent-pending hybrid AI combines analytical and generative AI to create a resource-saving, sustainable architecture – transparent, precise and comprehensible. The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection, which has been funding the development of DAPHY® since 2021, confirms that this approach is convincing.
“The trick is not to rely on the black-box reasoning of cloud AI, but to derive the orchestration dynamically from the specifics of your own data. This results in applications that combine the precision and reliability of analytical algorithms with the universal elegance of generative AI and deliver sustainable, effective benefits from distributed data sources,” explains Heiko Beier, founder and CEO of moresophy.
A vision that works – since 2001
Artificial intelligence as we know and appreciate it today did not fall from the sky three years ago, but is the result of decades of development. moresophy has accompanied many of these developments and shaped them as a pioneer .
moresophy founder Prof. Dr. Heiko Beier and his partner Dr. Christoph Schmidt – both PhD physicists – started in 2001 with the then visionary idea of generating usable knowledge from data. The name moresophy stands for “more wisdom” and is still the company’s guiding principle today.
“We asked ourselves: what would it be like if computers not only processed numbers, but also language and knowledge? The basic idea was to relate data in order to turn it into information. When we link information, connections and new knowledge emerge at ever higher levels of abstraction,” recalls Heiko Beier.
From knowledge graphs to hybrid AI
As early as 2006, moresophy developed knowledge graphs that helped Helvetia to process claims more efficiently. In 2008, Deutsche Telekom joined as a customer – a partnership that continues to this day. Since 2010, the company has consistently relied on machine learning.
What has not changed over all these years: The essence is always the same. Your own data. If you can trust your data – and the AI that operates on it – you can use it productively. moresophy began developing its own patented processes early on to ensure precisely this: that the right data of the right quality forms the basis of every AI decision. The result: AI decisions based on verifiable evidence instead of plausible assumptions.
Continuous development from technology start-up to AI company
“Since the launch of moresophy in 2001, our company has grown organically and sustainably. Currently, 30 people work at moresophy to productively implement AI solutions for our customers,” says Heiko Beier, describing the development. “We acquired Helvetia as our first major customer back in 2006. Telekom joined in 2008 – and has been our customer for 18 years now. For us, this is the best proof that our technology can be used in productive environments to create sustainable value. We have long-term partnerships with our customers on an equal footing – Haufe and GVL stand for this on the customer side, as do PwC, Accenture and other industry specialists on the partner side. Over the last five years, we have achieved average sales growth of 30 percent and are looking to the future with confidence in view of the rapid development of AI.”

Dr. Christoph Schmidt, CTO and co-founder, sees self-financing as a decisive lever: “Self-financing gives us the freedom to focus on exciting technologies and to decide freely where we want to develop.
